PHASE ONE: CONSULTATION

After submitting your questionnaire, we’ll schedule your consultation based on the service you’ve selected. Whether at your home or via video call, we’ll discuss your design needs in detail and explore how we can bring your vision to life. Our team will confirm your consultation and ensure we have everything needed beforehand to make the most of our meeting.

PHASE TWO: DESIGN CONCEPTS

With all necessary details in hand—floor plans, inspiration, budgets, and preferences—we’ll kick off the design process with a dedicated meeting. We’ll craft initial layouts and develop mood boards or renderings that reflect your style, showcasing options for color schemes, furnishings, finishes, and more. Every concept is carefully reviewed and refined until everyone is fully aligned on the vision before moving forward.

PHASE THREE: DETAILS

Once the design is approved, we dive into the specifics, finalizing selections and preparing quotes for your approval. This phase involves sourcing furniture, décor, and materials like fixtures, flooring, lighting, and more. Leveraging our trusted vendor partnerships, we handle all procurement to ensure seamless execution. At the end of this phase, every detail is in place for construction or installation, as applicable.

PHASE FOUR: EXECUTION

With everything finalized and ordered, we move into the execution phase. For new builds or renovations, we’ll coordinate closely with your contractor to ensure the design is implemented flawlessly. For styling or furnishing projects, our team handles the full installation process—transforming your space in one cohesive effort for a stunning reveal.

Spaces Design Services is tailored for clients seeking assistance with designing room layouts and sourcing furniture and décor. If you're local to Cape Town, you can start with an in-studio consultation and, for an additional fee, schedule an immersive design meeting at your home. For remote clients, we offer a fully virtual service, ensuring you receive the same detailed guidance no matter where you are.
To begin with Spaces Design Services, simply schedule a consultation on our website and complete the attached questionnaire detailing your design needs. Our team will reach out within 1–2 business days to confirm the consultation and request additional information if necessary.
We charge a non-refundable R1500 (excluding VAT) fee for the initial consultation. Should you decide to proceed with Spaces Design Services, this amount will be credited toward the total design fee.
Consultations are typically held virtually or at our Cape Town studio to discuss your project’s scope. However, if you are local and wish to schedule an in-home meeting, this can be arranged as part of the design immersion process for an additional fee. Note that billable hours for on-site visits will be included in your project proposal.
Following your consultation, we’ll provide a custom design fee proposal based on your project scope. Fees start at R1500/hour (excluding VAT) and cover services such as design concepting, layout creation, furniture and décor selection, and the preparation of a detailed room board with purchase links. Installations are not included in this service. In-home meetings, if requested, will be billed as part of the total fee and outlined in the proposal.

•   Living/Family Room: R140,000 – R240,000
•   Kitchen (Furnishings & Styling Only): R5,000 – R20,000
•   Dining Room: R130,000 – R250,000
•   Bathroom (Furnishings & Styling Only): R5,000 – R20,000
•   Home Office (Furnishings & Styling Only): R10,000 – R20,000
•   Bedrooms: R60,000 – R160,000
•   Playroom (Furnishings & Styling Only): R20,000 – R50,000
•   Outdoor Patio: R60,000 – R260,000

These ranges reflect average costs and may vary based on individual project needs. Budget discussions are a key part of our early design process to ensure alignment.
Spaces Design Services is divided into two phases:

Concept & Design: Includes consultation, design boards, layouts, and recommendations, which typically take 6–8 weeks to complete.

Ordering & Tracking: Plan for an additional 7-day lead time for in-stock items and 6–8 weeks for custom orders.
Spaces Design is not intended for projects involving construction elements like flooring, countertops, or tile. This service is best suited for furnishing, décor, and styling needs, with all items sourced through Urban Home & Co.
